At Families in Transition Granite Leaders Program
Robin Eichert was a presenter for the Granite Leaders program, hosted by Families in Transition, in Manchester, NH on April 9, 2014.
The Granite Leaders training program is focused on providing homeless and formerly homeless people with the skills and knowledge that they need to become even more involved in their communities on the issues that are most pressing to their lives and their communities.There are 17 participants in the program with graduation ceremonies planned for Wednesday, April 23, 2014.
Families in Transition (FIT), a nonprofit organization located in Manchester, Concord and Dover, New Hampshire, was founded in 1991 in response to the growing number of homeless individuals and families in the greater Manchester area and throughout the state. Since its inception, FIT has been committed to providing only the most innovative, comprehensive, and effective interventions specifically designed to help homeless individuals and families reach beyond the cycle of homelessness to lead healthy and successful lives. Their belief is that having a home is a basic human right and is fundamental to becoming an engaged and contributing member of our community.
Eichert’s presentation focused on how one becomes a leader and how to incorporate the different types of leadership style into effective communication. There was a tremendous amount of engaged and lively conversation with a talented group of students.
